Silas's 1st stitches

Abby came up for a quick trip. We went and found Silas some new shoes, and grabbed Chickafila on the way home. Silas was goofing off and standing on the kitchen table chair. He lost his balance and fell taking the chair down on himself. He took off the tip of his finger, including the nail. We went to the ER. Thank goodness Ab was here to take care of Simeon. 4 hours later we returned home.

Funny things from the ER:
1. I came unglued on the PA assigned to us. Matt says that my mommy claws came out.
2. Silas is super into Thomas the train. So conveniently all the nurses and Dr's had worked on Thomas.
3. I was asked to wait outside.
4. The nurses told me that Silas could give grown men lessons on behaving during stitching up.
5. The dr was explaining to Matt what he was going to do including removing a flap of skin, Silas looked up at him and stated: "that is definitely still attached"
6. The ER dr was a dark haired individual. The stitches were the oldfashioned dark ones. Silas told the dr that he left his hair on him.
7. We learned that hydrocodone and Silas don't mix. He gets really agitated/defiant.
