my buddies and me

Silas has discovered some new "friends": his feet. They are so intriguing. He pulls his socks off, stuffs his feet in his mouth and just holds them.
Twix is always wherever he is. Guarding. Surprising because we were a little worried about her, but she guards her baby.

Vander is still trying to figure it all out. On Friday, Silas reached out and touched his nose and he was in hog heaven. Also, can you see that Silas's bald spot is growing back. The hair that is growing in is very very light, almost white blond.

We are thinking that he is teething. He loves that teething ring. When you bite down on it it vibrates, which must feel good. The problem is that he wants you to hold it in his mouth.

Hamming with the "man in the mirror". The tongue is also a new discovery. He sticks it out and makes raspberry noises.

He is getting very good at the push up thing. And he sticks his rear in the air. Can you just imagine the dogs when he gets mobile??

The tongue again. Also, do you see his cowlick in the front??

He really loves the johnny jump up. He only likes it on the hardwood, he doesn't seem to care for it on the carpet. It must feel different. He also likes to jump barefoot.

Silas's little friend at daycare is preparing to go back to school. She has worked out with her mother that she can feed Silas before she goes to school and then when she gets home. They seem to have a bond. Kameron can even burp him and then he sits in the chair beside her. It is very cute!
He is growing so fast. He is very interested in objects now. He loves this key teething ring that my cousin gave him. He also loves this caterpillar that sings. It is hysterical, the orange color sings a country song "orrange. orrange" in a country twang. Matt and I laugh every time! He and I read his daily devotional that Auntie Liz & Aunt J, Cousin Ashley and Uncle Wes gave him every morning while he eats breakfast. Then we read my parenting magazine, that way he still hears my voice and reading , but I get to catch up on some of my reading as well! Matt read him the ESPN magazine last week. Silas and Matt have been enjoying Nascar on Sundays. Silas has gotten very long, with his chin on my shoulder his feet hit my hip. So he is looking much leaner. We have been taking walks in the evening around our neighborhood, and Silas allows us to do 2 laps. He is very much a talker. We have been having difficulties at church. Our sanctuary is very hot right now (we are about to begin the process of renovating and improving the AC) so he get mad. The last couple of Sundays we have been choosing our pew by the closeness to a vent, and I hold him over it during the service. That way he stays calmer. He still "talks" at some point during the sermon. Last week Charlotte (4 yr old friend) sat with us and he was so intrigued by her, he really wanted to grab her hair (it is red!). I hope that you all are enjoying your summer!!
