3 months!!!

Can you believe that he is 3 calendar months? That is so confusing, he is actually 13 weeks old. We have had some changes, you will see some later in the blog---all good. He is really looking like a little boy! We have stopped swaddling him since he was wiggling out just to find his thumb so we dress him in the sleepers. Those are hard to change a diaper in, luckily we aren't doing it in the middle of the night anymore!!!
So last week, we were heading out to church, and Silas turned beet red and started screaming bloody murder. We couldn't get him to settle down, and we figured we couldn't walk into church with him crying like that so we drove around. By the time that we got him settled down we were in Durant, OK and church was over. This week, we were trying our best to keep him up so that he would sleep during church. But he had a different idea. By 9:30 he was out to the world, we were tickling him, moving his arms and legs, dancing, talking to him and he was out cold. I went to church alone and when I got home after 12, he still wasn't awake!!! Such a change! The following picture is after we laid him down this morning.

Today we are taking it easy, so we are wearing our houseshoes. Aren't they cute??

Here are Silas and I.

Silas and his dad. If you recall we have a picture of Silas and Matt and Silas isn't much longer than Matt's forearm. Now look, he is the length of Matt's arm.

Last week after the crying incident, the day progressively got worse and worse. By that evening all of us were crying and Silas was spitting up. We called the dr and she came and examined him. She said 1. we were overfeeding him 2. he was exhausted. Silas was nursing to fall asleep. So when he was tired he was trying to nurse and so we thought he was always hungry. She recommended the Ferber method: they soothe themselves to sleep. We tried it the first night and we got a lot more sleep. By the 3rd night I was getting 8 hours of sleep and Silas was getting 9+. Last night he got 11.5. It has been great. We moved him to his own room, and found out the crib wasn't going to handle a kid who moves around like a starfish at night. So on Monday we got a new crib (see below). So we are slowly settling into a routine. It has made life a lot easier.
