week 4

So we have had a lot of visitors. Our church has been very good to us and has provided us with meals for the last week or so. We have thoroughly enjoyed the meals. Grandma Mac said she has never had so much dessert in her life. A number of the youth have dropped by to meet Silas. Here is Taylor, she was out of town when her parent dropped by, so she came by as soon as she got into town. As you know, the Basketball finals has been on the past 2 weeks. Matt and Silas have enjoyed watching it. Can you see his little leg kicked over Matt's arm.
Matt's sister Jennifer and neice Ashley arrived on Saturday. They have been a tremendous help. Liz arrived on Sunday and between them, they got all our errands run: Twix to the vet due to her allergies, Ashley's birthday gift gotten, finished the bookshelves in the den, etc. (Ashley went with Liz to supervise the vet visit. When they came out to get Twix, Twix peed, and Ashley told them, "Its okay, everybody has accidents".
Ashley made the comment that when she was bigger she wanted to hold Silas. So we tried out the boppy hold. It worked really well, and Ashley read Silas some books and showed him some toys. It was absolutely precious.
On Saturday night, the Allen's brought us the famous Chicken Spaghetti (absolutely delicious) and Katie's famous brownies. They all took turns holding Silas. It made for a great photo-op. Here's Katie and Silas.
Here's Abby and Silas. It appears as though he is telling her a story.

Amanda and Silas.
Ashley and Silas. And he appears to be just passed out in her arms.

Later Saturday, the Lusks came up with baby Noah. Noah is 9 days older than Silas. It was Silas's first playdate, although he and Noah ate and slept the whole time. Nonetheless, it was a great photo taking opportunity. Here are the boys and their dads.
And here are Sarah and I and the boys. Doesn't Sarah look great!

On Sunday, Bethany, Jeff & Caitlyn came up. They brought us lunch and then played. Caitlyn enjoys this game called race car. When Bethany finished it, Ashley asked if she could have a turn. Bethany suggested that Ashley get her baby and she could be the mommy. So they played that way.

Caitlyn is 5 months old now. It is hard to believe that she is growing so fast. She is such a cutie. Here are Bethany, Caitlyn, Silas and I.

The dads and babies....notice the burp cloths on their shoulders.

So, yesterday the Orkin man arrived to spray the outside of the house. I answered the door breastfeeding (baring all for him to see), I forgot that I was breastfeeding. Poor guy, he just left the bill on the door, and didn't ring to collect the money then.
Other funnies...I was breastfeeding yesterday. This has been a source of many questions for Ashley. She got mad at her mother and said, "When Aunt B gets done milking, she can do it for me". I have never laughed so hard.
Today I overheard her telling baby Silas what she wanted for her birthday which is this week, she was mentioning various things for her baby, but the last thing that she wanted was her own milker. We aren't sure if it means she wants a breastpump, because she has been very fascinated with that, or if she wants actual breasts. We are hoping the first.
