a day in the life...

Last night, the boys were watching tv. It was so cute. Silas's pants were way too long, Mom says he looks like a little old man in them (they have to be pulled up to his armpits to work), all he needs is some suspenders. We've read that tummy time is important to the development of neck and arm muscles and aids in crawling. So we try tummy time a little bit each day. It is hard work as you can see here.

The swing has to be among his favorite things. It plays music and the frogs spin around. He is content for hours.

Silas is having a big dream here...

This is the maya wrap that Aunt Liz got Silas. We enjoy it, it allows me to have both hands free and still have him "swaddled" close. He really enjoys it. I was worried when it came with a dvd of instructions, but it wasn't hard to figure out.

Diaper change is a family event. Everyone must supervise, some more closely than others.

Last night we gave Silas a spit bath, thinking that would help him sleep better. He really got mad about bath time, only calming when Matt brushed his hair.

So I have learned 2 things about my child.....he is very much like his father. They both HATE having the hiccups. Silas got them last night and was so mad, he was inconsolable. He fed 3 times in one hour because he spit up the food in his first round of hiccups. Finally he and I ended up on the recliner because being on my chest sleeping calmed him enough to get rid of the hiccups.

He doesn't seem to mind the dogs barking (and they have done a lot of it), thank goodness! I don't know what we would have done if he had been startled every time they got wound up!
